Arganese Connecticut Ambassador Robusto Cigar

This is a Robusto 5 x 50 from the Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Connecticut Shade
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican
Body: Mild
Strength: Mild

Typically I’m not a huge fan of mild cigars or Arganese for that matter. I do enjoy smoking mild cigars in the morning. This cigar is well constructed, no major veins in the wrapper, and was on the soft side of firm. The draw was very easy without much resistance. My real complaint is that I wish they’d use less glue on the bands as half the time when I’d try to remove them, they would rip a bit of the fragile Connecticut Shade wrapper.
Once lit that nice construction continues to show up, producing a nice even burn and tight white ash. You really had to give that tight white ash a good tapping to knock it loose. The cigar was a little bitter at times but not terrible. Leather came across as the dominate flavors with hints of another spice I cannot quite describe. It also had an aromatic cedar smell that came through in the smoke, adding to the flavor profile.

The Connecticut Ambassador is a below average mild cigar. I really havent had any thing from arganese that i loved. I would not pay for these cigars but might smoke one if i got it for free.

I rate this a 83

Size: 5 x 54
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Cubano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaragua & Honduras
Strength: Medium

The first thing that i notice with this cigar is how much the band looks like the Trinidad from Cuba. Upon further inspection there was a gorgeous pigtail cap that was perfectly placed. This cigar and the other Trinidad habana reserve cigars are really hard to find at brick and mortar shops and online. I always have to buy 3 or 4 of these when i see them somewhere. I paid $6.00 for this at my local cigar shop

The wrapper of the cigar looks oily and smells wonderful. This cigar is packed with tobacco and has a good weight to it. First light i am pleasantly surprised by the notes of caramel and raisins on the draw. As I smoked the first third the dominant note was cedar. There was a slight spice as well, and a sweetness that tried to surface from time to time.  The second third the sweetness became a more defined note of caramel. The cedar remained dominant however, and it was joined by some toast and leather. The final third of the cigar continues to be dominated by the cedar notes and the spice returns along with some raisin. The finish of the cigar is an enjoyable caramel making this a very complex smoke.

Wow i really love this cigar!

This is a slow smoking stick that burned very even for the most part. The draw was perfect and there was a nice amount of smoke being produced. Not once did I feel over powered or did I worry about the nicotine effect slowing me down.  This is my favorite cigar that Altadis USA currently has on the market.

I rate this cigar a 91 and wish more stores would start carrying it!

First cigar review! Tatuaje Havana VI Noble

The Tatuaje Havana VI Noble is 5x50 cigar with a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper and Nicaragua binder. The filler is a Havana VI blend (Nicaragua) and the release date was in Oct 2006

These cigars are Nicaraguan puros created from the same tobacco used to create Tatuaje cigars, but instead of being rolled in Miami, they are rolled in Nicaragua. This allows more cigars to be produced, at a lower price point, while keeping the quality and taste what you'd expect from Tatuaje.

The blend itself is between the fuller bodied Tatuaje cigars and the milder blend used in Cabaiguan cigars this is achieved in part due to the use or aromatic volado leaf in lieu of ligero for some of the filler.

This cigar has a nice triple cap and a rich oily tobacco aroma. First light reveals a very nice draw with good creamy smoke production that taste awesome. Strength is medium-full bodied so far giving a thick and chewy leather taste with an earthy pepper finish. The first third shows much the same flavors, dropping the body to a medium and the smoke is a bit less thick. Burn is excellent and the draw is still very good. 30 minutes in at the 1/2 way point I begin to notice a little change in the flavor and I am picking up more leather. It’s still very creamy and smooth and im really loving it. This cigar puts out such good smoke and flavors that i ended up buying a couple 5 packs of these on Cigar bid. Ending at 45 minutes the last bit showed no further changes except the previously mentioned leather notes.

I rate this cigar a 91 and put it in my top 20 smokes of all time!
